Today at approximately 1:45 p.m., Ayersville Schools received a threatening email from a terrorist organization indicating a bomb threat. Following emergency operation procedures, school officials immediately evacuated the building and contacted local authorities. Emergency responders were dispatched to the district, conducted a thorough sweep, and cleared it to resume normal operations. School will be in session tomorrow. School counselors, mental health counselors, and other staff will be available for students that may need support while here. For those that left things behind at the band and choir concerts, the building will be open from 4:30-7:00 p.m. tonight. Please enter through doors 23 (north student parking lot), 28 (old high school door), or 6 (band room door). Thank you for the quick response from The Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, Highland Center Fire Department, and other off duty personnel. The safety of our school community is always our number one priority. We appreciate your patience and support at this time.

Calling all students grades 7-12 that like to sing and dance! We are looking for additional ensemble members for our spring musical, "Bye Bye Birdie"! You do not need any experience or an audition - simply fill out the google form with your schedule and you can participate in the ensemble. The ensemble is a group of students who will participate in 5 scenes on stage, rehearsing one to two times a week in the evenings after sports practices. The ensemble does not have any lines or solos, but will sing and dance with the group. This is a great opportunity to try something new and make new friends. Even better - if this is your first time in theater, you will receive a free gift basket during the week of the show! This is a reminder that Ayersville will run on a scheduled 2-hour delay tomorrow (12/6) for the purpose of staff professional development. This delay includes Four County students. The Four County bus will depart at approximately 9:50 a.m.

Athletic Flight Tracker: Busy week for the Pilots, come check out a game!! Friday's Boys games at PH have been rescheduled to Jan. 13th... Friday will be GBK only with JV starting at 6pm. GO PILOTS!!

Game Day: Girls and Boys will travel to Edon tonight for basketball... Tickets are $7 adults, $4 students cash at the gate. See the parking map attached. JV games tip off at 4:45pm, Varsity Girls at 6pm, Varsity Boys at 7:30pm. GO PILOTS!!

Seniors- don't forget that the FAFSA will open sometime in December. If you want to be eligible for scholarships, loans or grants as part of your financial aid for college you must complete a FAFSA. Get your FSA ID now to be ready when the application opens!

Check out the Flight Tracker to see where the PILOTS are playing this week. Girls Basketball home opener on Tuesday and Boys Basketball home opener on Saturday with a triple header. Both GBK and BBK will travel to Edon for a full night of basketball on Friday. #GOPILOTS!

Don't forget, tomorrow is our CCP Informational Session in the auditorium at 5:30pm. If your student (grades 7-12 for the 24-25 school year) is interested in taking college classes please attend this event.

Reminder: Make plans to attend the College Credit Plus information session tomorrow night at 5:30 PM. Information sessions are required if students plan to participate in CCP courses for the next school year. Contact Mrs. Sublett for additional details.

Today the members of SADD attended a presentation by Brent Davis, Highland Township Fire Chief. He talked to the students about distracted driving. He shared that it takes about 5 seconds to read a text, and if driving 55 mph and reading a text, the driver's eyes are off of the road the length of a football field. Texting and driving/distracted driving are quickly overtaking drunk driving as the leading cause of accidents. Chief Davis also talked about the importance of using the technologies in our cars that makes it safer to communicate with others while we are driving. We would like to thank Chief Davis for his help in keeping Pilots safe. #PIlotsTakeFlight
