Students watch a live stream of erupting hotspot volcano on La Palma, Canary Islands as they research and report about the location and plate tectonic features in Ms. Fast's 8th Grade Science classes.
7th grade scientists are beginning the study of seasons with a brief lesson on constellations. Students read an article, highlighted main ideas, and created a top five facts sheet. Together we rearranged and combined facts, watched videos to illustrate the facts, and came up with a final top five list (as pictured).

Juniors and Seniors who signed up to go to Northwest State Community College's Manufacturing Day learned all about the skilled trades programs available at NSCC and spoke with many area manufacturing employers. See the programs here: https://northweststate.edu/STEM-home
College Credit Plus (CCP) In- person Information Session, Wed. Nov 17th 6pm-7pm at Defiance College, Schomburg Auditorium in Dana Hall on Sessions Street. If you can't make it, there will also be a virtual option to get information as well, shared at a later date.
Each quarter every JH/HS teacher nominates one student that they feel has earned their Wings as a Pilot! We honor those students with a fantastic breakfast provided by Cosmos and a set of Wings to be pinned to their varsity coat or bag! Congrats to our Q1 honorees!

CCP Writing students are about to get into their deep revision projects. We started today with some fun revision work. Deep revision is more than just making surface level changes; it's STAR (Substitute, Take-Out, Add, Rearrange). I can't wait to see how they apply these concepts to texts!
