One Step at a Time

September is Suicide Prevention Month.

If you or a loved one are struggling, please reach out for help!  You can text 4HOPE to 741741 or call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273- 8255

Several staff members came together to support the 10th annual One Step At A Time 5k.

The goal of this 5K Run/Walk is to help raise awareness about depression and its sometimes fatal result… Suicide. This run/walk is in memory of Scott Hammersmith and those who have died by suicide.

Suicide should not be kept a secret. Depression is a treatable illness and depressive illnesses account for more than 90 percent of all suicide deaths. Thank you to One Step at a Time 5k for 10 years of healing, hope, and support.

Students in grade 7-12 are receiving packets of information about suicide prevention and the resources available to them.

Additional local mental health resources  are available on the HS Guidance website
