EDUCATION

Born and raised in Defiance, Ohio, I attended NRA Elementary in Northeastern Local School District before moving to the Defiance City School system, starting at Spencer Elementary. Upon my high school graduation from DHS in 1991, I ventured to Bowling Green State University to major in Communications in Secondary Education. After two years at BGSU, I transferred home to Defiance College where I completed my student teaching at Ayersville with Mrs. Mary Anne Tille as my cooperating teacher and subsequently obtained my bachelor's degree from Defiance College in 1995 with a major in English and a minor in communications. I have also taken classes at Write State University, which focused on creative writing and portfolios. In 2002 I earned a master's degree in technology in the classroom from Bowling Green.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Immediately after my college graduation, I accepted a position in July 1995 at Fort Jennings High School where I taught eighth grade language arts and junior and senior English. The following year, I pursued the English opening at Ayersville, desiring to teach closer to home. I currently teach junior English, junior honors English, speech, and advanced speech here at Ayersville.

INTERESTS/HOBBIES

I enjoy photography and editing pictures in Photoshop; I also love scrapbooking the pictures I take. I love shopping and hunting for any "good deal." In my spare time, I like to read, and Mary Higgins Clark is my current favorite author, as I enjoy suspense novels. For tv shows, Grey's Anatomy is my absolute favorite show, followed by American Idol. My favorite time is spent with my family.
